SF Verify App - How to Refresh your Payer List

This article is intended to provide guidance to our SalesForce web application customers on how to refresh the SF Verify Payer list.

Why: Why do we need to refresh the payer list in SalesForce?  The VTX product is designed to connect to multiple insurances and clearinghouses to provide our customers with the most complete and accurate benefit responses.  This means that behind the scenes, we have a master payer list, that maps the options for each payer, to a single VTX  payer that you can select, instead of having to manually choose which way to connect to the payer.  For example:   If we have 3 ways of connecting to UHC,  we combine them into 1 option in the front-end, and behind the scenes, we choose the best option based on evaluating the speed, quality, and availability we have for the connection methods at the time of verification.

What: What does this means for our customers?  This means that as we make updates to our master payer list options, customers using our VOB product outside of the web app, will need to refresh the payer list in their application.  Since SalesForce is an external application, our SalesForce customers will need to periodically refresh the list.

How: To refresh the payer list in SalesForce, follow the below steps:
  1.  In your SalesForce Application Launcher, search for the VerifyTX application and select it

  2. Select the "Authorize" tab and select the "Authorize" button

  3. Authorize your VTX username and password, please do not use your SalesForce login to complete this step.  Use your VerifyTX username and password.

  4. Click "Allow"

  5. Select the "Payer Name/Facility" menu option

  6. Select the "Refresh payer list button" - do not click away from this screen,

  7. When the payer list refresh is complete, a message will show on screen that refresh is successful.  You now have the most up to date payer list.
